“Let’s go, babe!”

My changing boy… as his second birthday is quickly approaching (2 months away!), Spencer is developing so fast I can barely keep up.

Professional speaker. One major development has been using sentences and phrases when he’s talking instead of just saying one or two words. He’s gotten so good at expressing his feelings and telling us what he’s thinking. He will parrot ANYTHING we say – he repeats up to 3-5 words at a time now. He can say his ABCs (with a little prompting) up to the letter P. Then he derails by repeating “pee pee pee” and giggling. 😂Yesterday I caught him having a conversation with himself in the corner… he was playing with his cars and he said “Mommy, mommy!” then answered himself (presumably as me), “What, baby?” When he is scared or sad he runs to us and says “Mama/Daddy hold you” or “Mama/Daddy hand.” We had a severe storm last night and the lightning scared him, and every time it would flash, he would say “Scared you, baby” and run to one of us.

Spencer loves… everything! A new favorite game is to talk about what Spencer loves… I’ll start by saying “Spencer loves… mama.” Usually he will not repeat that back to me, and will say “wuv…*insert something else.*” Among the things he usually “wuvs” are: Pudge (the cat), mouse (we had a mouse in our house last week), lights, cars, Jesus, grapes, “baboo,” and Goldfish.

Big boy! He has officially moved out of 18 month clothes and is in his 2T stuff. Thankfully we received a huge box of hand-me-downs from Jordan’s cousin so we didn’t have to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe. Keeping a child diapered and clothed is not cheap! (And we did try cloth diapering, it wasn’t for us.)
