We decided to go out to eat on Friday instead of me cooking dinner; it was just a really crazy week and we felt like getting out of the house. We ended up getting KFC for dinner because it’s something that all 3 of us like and can agree on, plus it’s pretty affordable. Spencer was exuberant and laughing and yelling “chickie” and “roni” interchangeably while we fed him and ourselves. (Side note: what a luxury it is now to eat a whole meal without stopping to cut bites or feed forkfuls of food to someone 😂).
After dinner we went downtown for a walk, I’m pretty sure. I honestly can barely remember, because I’m thoroughly exhausted and my brain is fried. I could be completely making that up.
Saturday, we woke up early. By we, I mean Spencer and I. Jordan got to sleep in a little more. We read books and ate crackers and he fell back asleep for a quick morning nap. Also, I decided to get his Christmas pajamas out this weekend because, why not.
Jordan went golfing with his cousin and I had to work a little, so Spencer rode with me to check on my volunteer group. After we left, we decided to check out a playground I keep hearing about. Spencer absolutely loved it and it’s a bit more of a drive from our house, but not bad at all.

We went home and Spenny played with his cars on the floor while I made lunch and cleaned the living room. I’m starting to enjoy cleaning a lot more. After Jordan got home, they both took naps and I sat in the quiet and read my book, then made a quick Walmart run for toothpaste. I also took the time to curl my hair for I think the second time since giving birth. I’m currently reading Nothing to Prove by Jennie Allen and I can’t recommend it enough.
We went to church at 5 and then after church we got Burger King (another thing we can agree on and is pretty cheap) and then went for a walk downtown. I’m now realizing that I made up our Friday walk and that Friday night is a blur for me. I have no idea what we did.

Spencer was a little sweetheart and allowed me to sleep until almost 5 AM, and even then he fell back asleep in my arms for another 3 hours. We went for a little walk this morning and then I went to the church to work in the toddler room. On the way home, I stopped at the resale shop and bought Spencer a bunch of tshirts because his little belly is starting to show in all of his 18 month ones. We have basically nothing for him past 18 months, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for more sales to stock up. I got him 13 shirts and a pair of swim trunks for $11.
We took Spencer back to the playground after his nap and he had a blast. He was cracking us up in the car by trying to sing along with the music and loudly demanding certain songs with his limited vocabulary. We are enjoying this age so much. We stopped for ice cream at Lion’s Choice on the way home – they have flavor bursts now and they’re super cheap. They messed up our order so Spencer ended up with two baby cones.
