Usually people hate Mondays – I love them. It’s the start of a new week. I rarely work on Mondays, so it means I get to spend the whole day with my munchkin.
Today has been a normal day, and it may seem boring to some, but this is the life I’ve always wanted.
Spencer woke up at 6 and played in his room for 30 minutes or so, then we came downstairs while Jordan was getting ready for work. We ate breakfast and watched his cartoon, and I got some laundry going and the dishwasher. I read my devotion, made my to-do list, and put Spencer down for his morning nap.
After his nap, we ran to the store for a few things, and came back home and ate lunch and played.

Spencer found his sunglasses and kept holding them out for me to put on his face, then he would run to the corner giggling and take them off and come back. Eventually he got tired and went down for his afternoon nap. More laundry, and more dishes. Pick up toys again. When he wakes up, I have to vacuum… again.
I do work outside the home, but I’m glad it’s only part-time. Not because I don’t enjoy working, but because I am so genuinely thankful for these little moments I get to share with my child on the days when I would have been working in the past. It’s not easy taking care of a home and a toddler, but it’s my dream come true. 😊
